iPhone MMS for 3GS

I hear some people have received a text getting the update. I'm still waiting. Anyone know what's the deal with MMS for iPhone.

The big deal is that the iPhone could not do MMS (pictures, video, etc) for 2.5 years, and now AT&T updated it today for the iPhone. I jailbroken mine so I was able to use it for months. If you have a 3G/3GS, just connect it to iTunes and download the newest carrier update. If none come up, you need to install 3.1.

Yea, you need to install it through iTunes, however I am seeing some 3GS people saying they didnt have to do anything. Try restarting your phone and go into Messaging and see if you get a Picture icon next to the text-input field.

I just manually installed the .ipcc file since I am on a jailbroken phone and do not want to lose it currently

Some people received texts. You do need to sync with iTunes; atleast I did. Try it out!

Same. I manually installed the carrier file since I have a 3GS running jailbroken 3.0

I tried and it didn't work. I will sync over the weekend.

When you sync your phone, iTunes will prompt you to install the new carrier file. If for some reason it doesn't, then just click the "Update" button and it will. Once the carrier file installs, simply restart your phone and you'll have MMS.

Works great for me. Just exchanged MMSs with my brother.
