What are your favorite iPod Touch apps?

I recently bought a 32g iPod Touch and am considering taking it back to Best Buy in exchange for the 64g. What I really want is an offline map program of the entire U. S. and Canada, but the closest thing I have found is Offmap and I am not sure it will work the way I would like. I want something like Streets & Trips.

After two years of talking about it, my wife and I finally broke down and got iPhones last week, 16gb 3GS models. Now the App AD is starting which begs the question: What are your favorite apps whether they be utility or entertainment? So far, I see Facebook, Pandora, and The Weather Channel being must-haves. I'm looking for a couple of good games, plus a few apps for my 3 year old boy. He already knows how to power it up, flip to the 2nd screen, and bring up the Star Wars Light Saber app.

As far as cases go, the new Otterbox Commuter is looking good to me, or perhaps the Defender should the above mentioned 3 year old continue to play Jedi warrior. I have an el-cheapo neoprene case right now until I decide on something better. Other accessory recommendations?

Stanza is a nice book reader. It has some nice features like being able to download from your laptop. I loaded the complete Sherlock Holmes stories and now don't have to read the crappy magazines at the dentist anymore.

I have a iPhone 2g which is "jailbroken" so have some apps that are not available. My favorite regular apps are:
Sports Tap - for sports scores, etc.
AccuWeather - weather forecasts
Bloomberg - business, stocks
eBay - self explanatory
Shazam - id's/tags songs
Facebook

A Personal Assistant is a money managing app that lets you look at balances for checking/ credit cards.

CameraBag is a fun photo app
Nike+ is my running companion
MotionX GPS is neat for tracking routes, but I still like Nike+ most of the time
Instapaper lets you read stuff that you bookmarked in your browser
Evernote is useful for storing misc. data
Spider is a fun game, also Zenbound and TheDeep
Yelp is a great restaurant reference, shopping too
Kindle is where I store all my bedtime reading
+1 on NetNewsWire mentioned above
Brushes is fun for creating art

Two that have become really important to me are:
Lose It for tracking calories and helping me lose almost 30 pounds since I got the phone in June!
RunKeeper for tracking my bike rides and runs

Lose It for tracking calories and helping me lose almost 30 pounds since I got the phone in June!

I forgot to add the Livestrong Daily Plate app for tracking calories. I've lost about 15 pounds myself. Keep up the good work.

My favorite aps
1) Kindle- I sync it with my kindle reader so I can read from either
2) Shopper- I can make multiple lists of things I need to get over the week so when I go out I won't forget anything
3)Google- I really like the voice option

In no particular order:
kayak for trip planning
geared for a cool puzzle/game
classics for good reading
about battery for battery life
four square for getting together w/friends

The full version of MLB at Bat was the best $10 I spent all year. A must have if you follow baseball. The myWireless app for your AT&T is pretty handy as well.

+1 on Mint and Shazam

Also...

Done! - for task tracking.
iheartradio - great for listening to radio stations...especially if you are a transplant from another area like me. I listen to a California radio station in Indiana.
GasBag - No...not that gas. Tracks fuel economy.
Wallet Zero - Although I've not officially tried it yet. It creates virtual images of the little key tags you get from grocery stores, gas stations, etc. If it works as advertised it will be awesome. :tongue_sm

Shazam- good for knowing your possible new favorite song. (free)
Bankofamerica- good to view/transfer money on the go (free)
Pandora- GOOD Internet radio app (free)
Mint.com- very good for keeping track of personal finances and controlling your AD (free)
mystuff- good for keeping track of what you got and can seperatr them into groups. (free/paid versions)
Loopt- good for knowing where people are (free)
AAA discounts- tells you where you can get discounts as a triple A member (free)
batterymagic- very good app tells you your battery power how much time left you have doing what your doing on your phone and how my time it would take to recharge it. (free)
Evernote- great note taking/sharing app (free)
The weather channel- very good to have. (free)

I have the Defender. It's a bit bulky but I have already dropped my 3GS a few times and the case did its job. Two minor drawbacks the screen protector seems to get moisture bubbles very annoying. Also the phone does not snap into the belt clip. Check the bay I got a brand new one in the box for $31 with free shipping.
