Interesting disposable razor at Dr. visit.

I had to go in for a cardiac stress test yesterday. I have quite a bit of hair on my chest so it needed to be shaved. The assistant brought out a blue disposable razor that was an open comb DE. Everything about it but the handle was the same. I have never seen this before and was surprised has anyone else ever seen one of these?

Edit: I found a picture of one from a medical supply store. just thought it was cool.

So,after they dry shaved your chest, did they scratch your chest with sandpaper to make the contacts stick better? Gotta love cardiac stress tests, have one coming up in a month.

Remember something equally as basic when I had a vasectomy 18 years ago. You would think that experience would put me off DE shaving!

I've seen these but not with removable blades, I think I know where I can buy some locally. I may have to pick some up to add to a PIF! :001_smile

I went through the same deal when I had a Holter monitor for a day a couple of years ago. That woman was truly sadistic. I'm sure she was smiling as she was prepping my skin for the electrodes!

Oh yes they had to do it several times the electrodes were being "noisy" they said. :thumbdown

Well, reading the fine print, that's apparently the price for a count of 1000 of them, although I'd make sure before ordering it!

Where I work, we have a defibrillator kit in the first aid area, and get annual training on that and CPR. The defibrillator box includes a disposable razor of some kind, cartridge shaped, to be used if needed in dry shaving chest hair.

Get to have my Dr. use these every three months.
No heart problems, he just wants to make sure or use his machine and bill one of the two, or both.

Dang! You had to remind me of that! I don't know which was worse, the actual sandpapering of my chest, or the sting I got later that day when I had to run 2 miles.

I had to exfoliate myself! Man, I got gypped! (PS - DO NOT use Magic Shave powder on your manly parts! Even if a "friend" says it is fast, easy, and works great!)

I had to have a stress test about a month ago too, and she had a cartridge type razor. Why don't they tell you upfront that they are probably going to have to shave your chest? I would have done it and taken a little more care than the nurse did. I agree that the sandpaper was also really annoying.

I had broken my leg a few months ago. They put some screws and a plate in. When they took some of the screws out they shaved me with an electric. Like a trimmer style electric. Would have been cool if they used of of those. I might have asked to take it home.
