Inglorious Basterds

Has anyone else seen it yet? I caught it over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Probably my favorite Tarantino film since Jackie Brown.

A man who liked Jackie Brown recommending this film is enough for me. I'm going to go see it.

I want to see it but the only theater in town has only movies after 7pm at the moment and paying nearly $9 for a movie isn't my cup of tea. I love Tarantino as a director, but I would prefer to see it in the afternoon for nearly $6. I'm sure by next week they will have the movies for the afternoon.

I loved Jackie Brown! Hardcore Tarantino fans seem to love to pick on it, but I think it has held up better than most of his other efforts.

Same here! I have always liked it. "He's an employee I had to "let go." We just watched the Basterds yesterday. Not bad, not bad at all. Got some good laughs.

Im a huge fan, and I love Jackie Brown, just not as much as his others.

I have decided to let this offering wait for video though, actually I have only seen Pulp Fiction in the theater, so its not new to me. Im a little turned off by the scalping and baseball bat violence...its not my view of WWII.

Jackie Brown is my favorite of his as well. Great movie and great cast. Pam Grier and Robert Forrester really did it for me.

My feelings exactly. I thought that Christoph Waltz, the actor that played Landa, was fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

Saw it Sunday -- excellent. It was a fast 2 1/2 hours.

Gotta agree that Waltz was fantastic. Did everyone in the theater you were at break out laughing when Landa took out his pipe? And who knew he could make you sweat just by ordering a glass of milk.

I sent for the soundtrack. I just love QT's musical taste! It is one of his secrets of success. Some of his choices can be explained by an interview with QT I read. He said The Good the Bad and the Ugly was "the best movie ever made". Green Leaves of Summer was an inspired choice for the opening.

And yes, I love Jackie Brown. Saw it, I think, three times.

Saw it too! I like it.

The only down part was that I was expecting a bit more background on the Basterds and see all of them a bit more... I guess QT will do that in a sequel that will be a prequel... The usual!

I bought Kill Bill I and II on Blu-ray about a month ago. It was the first time I'd seen them since they were in the theaters. They were better than I remembererd, really creative filmmaking on all levels, and absolutely stunning in HD. I loved Pulp Fiction, but was actually a bit lukwarm on Jackie Brown. Maybe I need to watch it again. At any rate, I'm definitely down for Inglourious Basterds, although it takes a whole hell of a lot to get me to a movie theater these days. (A good home setup has spoiled me, I guess.)

Not seen it yet but the TV adverts for it changed after a few days here in the UK!

It was first advertised as Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds but soon changed to Tarantino's Inglorious!

I found it a good film also, some very funny bits, very funny. Suspenseful with good acting and I was left wanting more. 8 outta 10.
