In no particular order:
Tabac
MWF
L'Occitane Cade
Valobra (stick)
Speick (stick)

I haven't tried the AoS products but their sandalwood is highly regarded here.

The two best still in production are Czech & Speake and Art of Shaving. For pure lather, it's AoS. For scent and a good blend of lather & slip C&S.

Col Conk Almond is a respectable Soap. Smells good and works fine, however spending a little bit more for a better soap that will actually last you longer is the way to go IMO. Here is a few excellent soaps that I will recommend...

Tabac, Provence Sante, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Arko, Palmolive, Speick, Prairie Creations, and Mama Bear.

MWF.
I use creams, but that soaps got a permenant home in my rotation.

Same. I'm a vast majority cream user but I've discovered tallow soaps and I'm just starting to try a few different ones. MWF and Ralph Lauren Safari are both excellent soaps. I'm going to try Irisch Moos today.

Can't say what's best for you.

On the "you should try them" list, I'd put

Tabac (or Sir Irisch Moos, if you don't like the Tabac scent)
Palmolive stick
La Toja stick

These are soaps I like that seem to get a lot of love around here.

Soaps I want to try, and you should, too

Pre De Provence
Provence Sante
Cella
MWF
AOS Sandalwood

There are more that I've tried and liked a lot, but they are either in the "really good but not great" category, or seem to be favorites of mine but in the YMMV category for others. I've also left off several vintage soaps I think are great but you'd have to hunt them down.

Obviously when you ask a question regarding the "best soap" people have different ways to rank their choices. If you are looking for ease of use and quality of lather, I think that it is hard to go past Tabac. For the whole experience, there are plenty of more luxurious soaps out there too.
