So I need a new watch, well as much as any man needs a watch, but I dont have a working one at the moment. Keeping things under 500 here, well under if I can but I have started a list of watches Im going to begin to look at and work from there. Though I would share the list with what I like about each If anyone has any other brands feel free to let me know why they are a better choice for me then what I have picked for myself.
From Mondaine
Simple is not easy to do, ask any blues musician about unique 3 bar blues. Mondaine does simple and basic in a way that I love my first look to them is this 41mm (Case) with day date function and really nothing else but its good looks... but these looks are tough for me to turn away there are two different versions (The second is a 40mm case) but both hover well below my limit at around 200 for the first and 225 for the second. A watch that I could wear anywhere but may look a bit out of place in formal environment in a white face... I don't do many weddings though so not a big deal,... these do have mineral crystals

Although a bit more complex and a major jump in price over 480 this is one of the best looking watches on my list. it still has the date, looses the day, but adds an alarm and some chronograph features (Which the later ill never use but they always look nice). they have a few details (And lets face it the details are what make one watch the best ever or most hated) that I do like,... the added in red alarm section, the hour markers that run up the face, this watch screams vintage car culture to me almost like a day at the salt flats in the 50s,... At the top of my budget but not out of play just yet, as it does use sapphire for its crystal that is going to add to the cost over the first two, also forgot its a 42mm case

The Tissot
Same watches one black with black strap, the other white with brown, both in alligator leather. If my Mondaine selection was at the races, these watches were hanging out in an advertising firm somewhere in new york in the 50s. with a great perpetual clock function that just looks timeless to me these are hard to remove from the cart. falling in the middle of the price range at the 350 mark also makes for something tough to ignore... Sometimes having to many decisions is tough, but hang with me as over the next little while I will whittle this down some,.. since i stated the others both are sapphire crystals 42mm cases for both

BTW for those that seen the post on the citizen and wonder what ever happened to it,... AT-4007-52E, I met one at a store today and well,.. I didnt like it, although the crystal was non reflective the inner trims and hands very much were,.. Infact the trim for the date markigns was almost unreadable in a well lit environment as they use very reflective metal that lit up in reds whites and yellows.. but it hindered functions for some pretty sparkle, and I didnt like it...poof, that one is out
there was another playful citizen on my list...
