I really want to get something from the imaginary authors line mainly, as cheesy as it sounds, I *love* the literary theme. I need a new fragrance as well so that works out. Anyhow, I was hoping to get some advice from some who have used it: I want something masculine but classy. Nothing like many of the modern day "I smell like I work in a perfume factory" (I.e Abercrombie & Fitch) things. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I would suggest buying the sample set. All of Josh's fragrances are unique and not quite like anything else I have sniffed. That said, I love green fragrances so Soft Lawn is my favourite of the line so far.

The Cobra and the Canary is a great masculine scent. The SWMBO loves it on me as well, and she does NOT like floral or aqua scents on me.
So is Bulls Blood, though Bulls Blood is a bit fuller bodied and heavier than Cobra and Canary.

However, she also likes the Bulls Blood on me and says that is a nice night time scent. Those two are my favorites. I recommend you order the sampler set. You can get a nice, varied collection and choose from there.

I like a few of the scents, but unfortunately, they only last for about an hour on me.
I've been wearing "Falling into the Sea" to work for the last month (yes, the sampler spray bottles last forever!).
It's a nice lighter scent along the lines of Canoe or Clubman.
These are EDP, not EDC, and they are significantly more potent. I don't get the "only last an hour" at all, but body chemistry obviously makes a difference.
SWMBO and I continue to pick up the evolving scent many hours later.

The sampler set is a good way to go to help you narrow down to something you like. The Cobra & The Canary is a fave, followed by Soft Lawn.
It's also a good way to discover that you are going to be spending $700 on cologne in the near future.....
there isn't a bad one in the bunch. the sampler is great, and very generous. far and away the best bang for the buck. I was about to recommend the soft lawn, bull's blood, memoirs of a trespasser, or the cobra and the canary--all meet your stated criteria--but full bottles of each would run you $340 (I don't know about decants), and you may not like any of them. the sampler allows you to try them all several times and then make a more substantial investment. like you, I loved the theme from the start. I got the sampler just when I was exploring cologne for the first time, so several of these frags are benchmarks for me. again, you can't go wrong. enjoy!

So I took everyone's advice and ordered the whole lineup of samplers. The only problem now is waiting on them! Haha. Thanks again, gents.
You'll have them in a day or two.
Then the only problem will be deciding which one you will wear.... and which one you won't buy the full bottle!

Did you get your sampler? I got mine today and felt like a little kid. I haven't tried any new fragrances in a while and I tore open the packet. I loved the individual tester cards. Nice touch!!
I was most excited for Bulls Blood based on the description but actually may like all the others more! That is why blind buys are a bad idea.
