So I don't post here often because I don't get emails that say I have replies and well I'm too lazy to check the actual site and/or I get distracted by the shiny things on the internet. Anyways I bought a Dragons Tongue from Inigo Jones as I figured the authentic DT would be better than the one that may or may not be a dragons tongue that is available on ebay. I don't really know if I like it or not. It seems like no matter what grit sand paper or stone I use to lap it, it still has scratches on it. I have used both diamond plate and sandpaper up to 1200 grit and it seems that there are always a few scratches here or there that wont come out and new ones appear sporadically, and one can definitely feel them honing.
Does anyone else have experience with this and is it even a big deal. Its not a stone that I need nor plan on using to much and I got it for 14 bucks so if I cant use it no big loss. It just seems that even when I am just using it to sharpen my knives they seem to leave scratches on the stone. Also I have found the slurry stone to be quite useless and that if I want slurry that I need to use my diamond plate. What are your guys' experience with these stones.
