If you had to pick a Vintage Gillette?

Hi there everyone, im watching a few ebay item on Gillette safety razore. Superspeed and Fatboys.... If I could get some guidance from the members here in which one i should be considering over the other, which one should I get..

And also if you have any other suggestions on other Gillettes i should be looking at.

Note* I currrently have a Merkur HD and a Merkur Futur. Just wanted to add a few more to my collection and rotation since im slacking in that department

I suppose my own number one choice would be a Gillette Slim for sure. Adjustable to suit your preference and also not quite as fat as the Fat Boy so easier to shave under the nose. The Fatboy is a nice razor too, but my vote would be for the Slim adjustable. I love mine. Superspeeds are great too but if I had to pick one..

If forced to pick one, it would be the Fatboy. Superspeeds are great and I like the Slim but find it to be unbalanced when compared to the Fatboy. If you HAVE to choose one, I'd go with the Fatboy and wouldn't look back!

Fatboy for sure. I really like the shorter handle and it has a better balance for me. And there weren't as many Fatboys made, so if you find a nice one grab it.

I have a Slim and a flare tip SuperSpeed. For me it'd be the SuperSpeed if I could only have one. It's just about perfect. I'd like to try a red tip just to see, but the regular flare tip is plenty aggressive. Shaves like a boss!

Well, if I had to pick, then the one that works best for me is the 1946-47 Aristocrat. However, YMMV is the correct answer, so my advice is to get both the SS and Fatboy and then decide. You can always unload one or the other on the BST Forum.

My vote would consist of the the slim, mainly for it's price. Try not to spend a large sum of money on the antiques, you may not like them. The Fatboy "looks" pretty and for a nice one they're usually overpriced. Good luck!

Thanks to everyone. Its been one of the hardest to decide. so i bit the bullet and I won a Gillette 1961 G2 Fatboy in excellent condition with original box for $40 and a 1958 Gillette Superspeed with original box for $38

Both razors look amazing in the pics so im hoping they look the same when i receive them.

But since you never tried a Gillette before i would Recomend the Slim for you, because its adjustable and head is lower then the Fatboy and you can get under the nose easier, but if i was you i would just get all 3 shave with each for 2-4 weeks, then decide which line you like and want to keep, You may just keep all of them )
