Identifying safety razors?

These razors are so darn alluring! I'm seeing them everywhere now, but alas most of the time I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Is there any resource that can help a newbie identify vintage safety razors?

For example, I found this beauty, but I have no idea what it is and thus whether it is worth pursuing... what's the verdict?

Sorry, I should have made it clear that it is not mine, at least not yet. But I am certainly consider it. Thirdeye, yeah I'd reached the same conclusions about it being NOS too!

Is it some sort of a slant razor or is something askew in the picture of the top of the razor? I'd buy it if it was reasonably priced.

It looks like a Gillette british NEW from the 30s. In this condition a great score! Here you can find some examples of Gillette razors:

Achim has spoken. His site is the #1 gillette razor resource, and I recommend looking through it a few times until you recognize the main types.

That razor unless ridicously priced is a really great find. Many consider the NEW to be the best shaver out there, maybe not for the beginner since it is a bit aggressive. And as you know YMMV and all that. :tongue_sm
