My father presented me with his old razor. I believe it to be a Gillette from about 40 - 50 years ago. It is a gold TTO. How can I go about identifying it?

Look on the underside of the razor to see if there is a letter and number, such as G4 or P3. There will be space separating the letter and number. If you tell me this code, I will give you the year of production.

Thanks for the help. I think it may be a 1950's Super Speed. But will look into it further.
The only info on the underside is "Reg US", "Pat Off", "Gillette" and "Made in USA"
On the inside is "Pat NOS ON" and "Package"

You did say gold. The only Gold SS I know of is a Rocket and these are few and far between.
It may be a Milord by the sounds of it.
Oh yes, I had forgotten about those. Your right it very well could be.

Yes, definitely gold.
I think you may be right. It looks just like the Milords on the wiki. Probably pre-1951. Way to go, Dad!

Not only the Rockets: I´ve a "B3" and a "H4" gold Super-Speed. But I think KenR´s is a Milord.
I have 2 B3s that are gold as well.
