looks like it's got a rather worn blade with a frown, i wouldn't bother fixing it, probably cannibalize the scales since they look like horn.

Haha sorry I don't know the lingo, what does cannibalize it mean?
Lingo? What lingo? Haven't you ever cannibalized various things for parts before?
Anyway, he's talking about knocking off the pins and saving the scales. You know those black, non-metallic things that sheath the blade when not in use? You could eventually use them on another blade that needs scales because their either missing completely, or severely damaged.
