What's new

I wanted to say I really like it here.

So, I've been a member for maybe two months now and already I have to say it rules here. In these two months I've received and sent out a few PIFs, done some trades, learned stuff, taught other people stuff, and just had a good time. Never have I found a place online that is as cool as this. I mean, the whole PIFing and trading thing...I've had stuff I think sucks and got stuff I love in return. I've even gotten things I've wanted to try after sending others things they wanted to try! How awesome is that? It saves money and it creates pretty awesome friendships! I just had to say it's super awesome here, and even though this is a community based on wets having, it's obvious there is much more to it than just that one little thing. That's the end of my little speech; I look forward to more awesome times here!

PS I still like Williams

I love it here too... I've amassed a collection of soap/cream samples and different blades just by hanging around here and participating in PIFs, and I've also had the chance to share some of my favourite items with others that hadn't tried them. The spirit of giving and generosity is very strong on this board. I wouldn't think twice about paying $2 or $3 in packing/postage to pass something on to someone who'd get more use out of it because I've had others show me that same generosity. Folks on here are also generally very helpful and willing to answer questions. It's just a nice place to hang around.

Exactly. I pay two bucks to ship out a few samples or something I don't like, and I get the same in return. You can't beat that. Plus, people on here answer those questions that have been asked a million times and don't flip

I think many of us feel the same way. B&B is one of the things I miss most when traveling/working. I'm never truly home until I've had a nice BB session! Nice to see a fellow Mainer here as well! There are a few of us kicking around.:biggrin1:

Another Mainer! Awesome! Nice to meet you.

I have to agree with you OP. I've only been active for a couple weeks and just love this community. From what I've seen/read, people are actually nice to each other. Some of the other fora I belong to just degrade into flame wars. Needless to say, I'm really digging the atmosphere here.

The term "gentlemanly restraint" has a dual meaning, for me. The patience exhibited by the longterm mbrs here is commendable. Personally, I can let the sarcastic gene I carry become dominant, but in this environment it doesn't stand a chance. Good hearted, good natured, opinionated give and take is fine by me. I enjoy it; kind of like a small town barbershop, I guess.

Well the B&B mods do a great job with keeping the conversations gentlemanly.

I've PIFed/traded a few things and also purchased some items from the BST. It's been an overall pleasant experience. It is nice to be a part of a place where a (virtual) handshake still means something. The world could learn a lot by hanging out here.

Zack, you have the funniest, enthusiastic and joyful Posts I've ever read... and I mean that as a compliment. It's always fun to open one of your threads or happen upon you're posts, never lose your zest for B&B.

I take that as a major compliment! What made you feel this way? Was it my new found love of Williams Mug Soap? Thank you very much for the nice words. I think it's impossible to lose zest for a place like this because it's a great hangout. I'll try my best to keep up what I'm doing, although I've not really been trying to do anything at all!

Dennard, thank you too! :)

Agreed, Zack. I've experienced much of the same that you describe and it's truly a gentleman's forum here.

Thanks for sharing, Zack. B&B has a good thing going here and we're glad you are a part of it.

Yo bro!!! Ditto that for sure!!!

We like having you here!

It's like that old shop where people get to know you at the corner store that has since now dissapeared. Now it's online. It's good to stop in now & then to talk to familiar & new voices. Glad your like it here. As for your choice of Williams,.....won't hold it against ya!:biggrin1:

Thanks Jim! It sure is great!

Rxonmymind, I get that vibe, too! But, I like other soaps, too...mmm Fresh Brewed Coffee. Everyone is just jealous of my lathering skills of Williams

It's a HUGE credit to this forum and all the fine gents (and ladies) that make it the success it is. I joined this forum once I started DE shaving and it's been a HUGE help indeed. Cannot really express enough thanks. I actually look forward to shaving AND it's pain free, no rashes and smoothly close. Still get a few weepers occasionally (still working out my tornado pattern next spot).

My last shave was my best DE shave EVER. Was still smiling about it the following day. It's literally made a big difference, as now I'm nice shaven (every second night at the moment), rather than being hairy-ish and shaving weekly.
