I have the 2011 R41, merkur futur and Fatip. So far I am really enjoying the Fatip. What is a comparable razor, close or open comb.

Giving this a bump. Surely someone has a recommendation here.
The Joris is almost exactly like the Fatip but far superior in finish. Being palladium plated it also has some wonderful handle designs but you do pay handsomely for one.
+1 I'll also add that it's a little smoother shave as well.The Tradere razor is another great choice,it's not quite as aggressive as either the Joris or FaTip but it is efficient and a smooth shave.

I was looking for a razor similar to the fatip but higher quality. just ordered a spiral handled palladium joris.

Around how much can the Fatip be had for?
$32-$38 plus shipping depending on the model (Piccolo or Grande, nickel or chrome). Maguire's Barbershop is the obvious choice on eBay.
My only OC..... the piccolo. A fine razor. Used last week while in the tub. Proraso pre shave, soap and post shave. So smooth. Finished with some bay rum and Alcado.
I find the french open combs of LeCoq and Leresche slightly more aggressive then the FaTip if you are looking vintage. Nice shavers.
