What's new

I think I have a shaving dependance

So I shave all the time. 2x a day, every day. I cant stop! Even when I screw up and I have a bad shave, I still can't keep myself from shaving later that day or in the morning. If I can't shave I feel crummy and distracted and sad. When I shave I feel so good! The scents and the brush lathering up any number of soaps or creams and that tingling burn of the aftershave followed by hours of faceturbating, waiting until the faintest hint of stubble returns for another shave.

I have a serious problem people.

You've come to the right place. Take a seat, grab a magazine and the doctor will be with you shortly :biggrin1:

If you box up everything and send it my way, you can't use it... we'll cure you of your issue yet.
Even if it means we have to duct tape oven mitts to your hands and put a dog cone on your neck

This is my 4th week of DE shaving & I was doing the same things you described for the the first 10 days. I'm aware that it's not advisable to shave more than once a day.

But shaving with a safety razor for someone who did not know or question anything beyond the existence of a gillette mach 3 was a great feeling. I love the ritualistic nature of DE shaving more than anything to do with the closeness of the shave or anything remotely related to saving money -&- it has strangely become something I look forward to every morning - not that I had any problems with my mach3 ...but it was a massive bore/annoying chore.

The number of times that I have nicked myself in these 3-4 weeks is probably more than the total number of times that I have cut myself in 13 years of shaving with the gillette mach 3 - which makes allowances for all retarded techniques...but I'm totally happy with my safety razor & have started my own mini acquisitions & I don't think that I will be going back to my gillette anytime soon....leaving smoothing things out below my nose which the merkur never seems to do properly.
