Can anyone recommend someone who can refurbish some razors for me? I've tried two different people so far and I'm having trouble getting them to respond to me. All I want is a skilled craftsman who will get the job done honestly and fairly. Thanks.

sometimes it can get expensive doing this. "is it worth it?" or for same/even less $ can you buy a better vintage blade?

I've had several done by the guy that works with whippeddog. He can be contacted through whippeddog, on his website. He's reasonable with quick turn around, and he does great work.
Bob Keyes does phenomenal work. He restored two Dubl Ducks (Special No. 1 and Goldedge) for me to beautiful shape. The Special No. 1 had a decent frown that he made disappear. He disassembles the razor, cleans the scales perfectly, replaces pins, and polishes/hones the blade.
I used him for an heirloom restroration. Not only does he do excellent work, but he packages the razors with care and hones them for first shave. The moment you get it back from him, you can just go. No need to strop your first shave. I also sent him the razor back for rehoning because I can't do it myself. When I didn't know he did rehonings, I sent it to someone else; terrible job. With Glen, came right back the second time the way it did the first time he had it: perfect!
We have several Vendors and Hobbyists right here at B&B who do fine work, and you'll be supporting vendors and hobbyists who support B&B rather than just advertise here by word of mouth.

I agree with Phil. There are many members on this site that are very capable of making a rust bucket look new. If you had seen what mycarver did with my W&B FBU you would understand. We should support our members here. I am in no way pushing my services as I don't do restores for people and i couldn't even come close to working magic like some of restorers here.
