What's new

I may have finally solved neck issue.

For as long as I have shaving, my lower neck has always been a problem. I could shave my face and head with a dull butter knife and have no irritation but if I so much as look at my neck wrong I get razor burn.
Thanks to the advice I have accumulated from the fine gents here at B&B, I have improved my lather and shave angle. However I think the biggest factor in my now zero irritation shaves is that I realized my neck hair doesn't grow in the direction I thought it did. About half way down my neck it starts to grow north instead of south. By going with the grain now on my first pass I have pretty much eliminated razor burn.

So thanks very much for all the advice I have gotten here!

Kinda the same here. I shave my neck every other day. I have worked up the courage to at least make 2 passes on the days that i do shave it. Awesomely close. I still cant shave it every day. It takes almost overnight for those bumps to form, then 3 months for one to go away. Better soaps, better steel, and better technique ... its a constant learning process.

I to have had neck issues and just a day ago when I shaved I decided to really take a close look at my neck. I had some idea how the hair grew but I needed to make sure. My neck is a strange thing. So just to the right side of my throat to my left ear, the hair grows toward my left ear. Then from just the right side of my throat to my right ear, the hair grows towards my right ear. For the longest time, I would shave N to S then on a second pass S to N. Its no wonder my neck would get pissed at me and get all those annoying red bumps. Its amazing what a difference it makes when you discover these things. I also was helped in this matter by the fine folks here at B&B so I also would like to extend yet another thank you for that.
