I think you are set already:).

Maybe a Semogue or a badger hair brush? Only because your brush is the only thing they might need upgrading compared to the rest of your kit.

I'd say you could use a new brush. Check out whippeddogs site. You can get a silvertip badger brush for around $40. And that leaves room for some nice aftershaves and soaps :)

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
what first came to mind was an assortment of stuff with a $60 limit. such as brush upgrade, a new soap, and possibly new AS.

Semogue boar brush, for example the Semogue 1305 it costs $19 at bullgooseshaving.net

Strop Shoppe - Special Edition soap

La Toja shaving stick

Kent gave you a great hint above on the Semogue boar. It's a huge brush upgrade compared to your VDH. Also, why not try a quality shave stick?

Shame on you guys, no one said the Veg yet?

Seriously though, I love both of my Semogue brushes, they are terrific!

As others have suggested getting a second brush would be in order.

Also you can grab some decent shaving creams at stores locally to you. Bed Bath and Beyond carries RS (real shaving company) cream which is fantastic and has a low cost for an English shaving cream

Also Kiss My Face can be found in a store near you http://www.kissmyface.com/store and cost $5 a tube

To be fair, you should clue your fiance in about the enablers at B&B and give her the option of rephrasing her statement.

There's a big difference between;
So my fiance just informed me shes going to buy me anything I need shaving wise.
and
So my fiance just informed me shes going to buy me anything I want shaving wise.

ha ya good point all said and done i'd like to get a good brush new as and maybe a good shave stick

Shave sticks are inexpensive so put one or two different types on any order you make for blades, aftershaves, and other products to cut down on shipping costs to you.

Arko is one of the best lathering shave sticks around but has a split acceptance. Stop by the Shave Stick Brotherhood thread to here what others have to say about the different brands of shave sticks

Depending on if you face or bowl lather you can get a TGN badger brush made to your specs from Tony at The Golden Nib. I've got a couple of the finest and they're great. As others have said there are a bunch of nice boar upgrades to your VDH.

Check out a SOC or the B&B essential brush. Both are awesome and will be huge upgrades over your current one. If you'd rather have a badger look at a custom from one of the fine brush makers here. You can get an outstanding badger brush that's within your price range.

I would recommend a good AS and a new brush. Does your current AS have alcohol in it? I've got a couple of those "gift set" After Shaves that really suck, but I didn't know they did until I tried an AS that was designed for just that purpose, not something to add perceived value to a cologne. Italianbarber had some nice deals on AS a week ago so I picked up a new sandalwood AS and a tub of the Proraso red for $21 shipped.

I think you're going to start loving wet shaving with a new brush as well. There is just something wonderful about face lathering with a great feeling brush. Going from a VDH boar to a Semogue or a badger will be like night and day. Your face will thank you!

Two things missing from your list. A nice brush (be it badger or boar) and your first 100 blade buy. Perhaps a cream or soap and your good for another year.

You need some Mike's Natural soap to round out your den! Get some of his samples too so you can become hopelessly addicted to it like I am.

If you are interested in buying a shave stick, Mike's Natural comes in them too. My favorites are Coconut, Hungarian Lavender, Orange Cedarwood and Black Pepper, and Bay Rum. Hungarian lavender isn't flowery at all, its spicy and herbaceous.

You have got good advice on brushes so far. I am waiting for the green B&B boar to get one.

Ogallala bay rum after shaves are really nice too.
