I got this tech at an auction

and can't for the life of me, identify it.

It's a gold, ball end tech, with no date codes, and the square slots.
The top of the razor has the word Gillette in block letters.

Can someone point me to where they were able to find it ?

As far as I know, most Techs are not identified by date, if that is what you want to know. Ballpark - somewhere between 1940 and 1975. Does anyone know if the '54 and later ones where dated? None of mine are dated. Looks like you got a nice razor - enjoy!

According to CountryJoes, I have an early 1950s

And I can't seem to pin it down using Mr. Razor.
Some look close other than saying "Made in England" or not being gold.

Anyway, after cleaning I will be proud to put it into my rotation and treat him well.

Based on the slot pattern, it looks to be from 1946 to 1950.

I´m not sure about a missmatch of your razor. The first Tech with etched Gillette logo on the cap that I know is the black plastic handle Tech from 1951. The first ball end Tech with etched cap that I know is from 1956.

I've got a 1957 tech that looks identical to yours. It's the smoothest, most user friendly DE I've ever used. Mine had date codes though.

I must correct myself: I´ve found this 1946-1950 set in my not listed treasure box. There was a Thin blade "T4" from 1948 in the case. Maybe the set ist from 1948 too.

I am going to use him(her) this afternoon after a good wash in Hydrocide.

I recall reading that this razor, coupled with a Feather blade gives a great shave and I am looking forward to it.
