What's new

I found the perfect lid for my Old Spice mug - for free!

My wife was baking a cake today and I decided to snag the lid off of the frosting container. It's a perfect fit! Air tight too.

I don't usually put a lid on my soap mugs (including my Old Spice), but that one looks very nice, color match and all. Maybe I'll see if I can snag one. As a bonus, I might have to bake myself a cake!

No need to bake a cake....just buy a tub of frosting. No rule says you cannot eat frosting straight out of the can. Cake is just a carrier for the frosting anyway.

Pringles lid works too.

You'd cover a soap to keep the scent...something that a guy might want to do if he's trying to prolong the delicate bouquet of Arko, for example.

Agree - been known to do that on occasion. Great idea for the lid. Keeps the dust off your soap.

i have a similar set up been using it for a while now...i use icing lid containers. it's from a supermarket here in canada, Sobeys. they have no writting on them, no markings and are a near perfect fit for my OS mugs.

mine is not air-right, so maybe i'll have to try the betty crocker one next time i have a hinkering for some icing

Any place that sells plumbing supplies should have 3" Plastic Knockout Test Plugs for less than a buck. The fit perfectly inside an OS mug and look like they were made for it!

Gotta love creative repurposing.

I drink a LOT of iced tea.
SWMBO broke my extra large Coca Cola style glass (it was intended to be more a vase than a drinking glass), so I brought home a Double Gulp (64oz) cup.
Of course, the 7-11 plastic lid broke as soon as it was removed.
The plastic lid from a tub of Canola spread fits perfectly.
Punched a hole for a straw through it, and I now have a cup that not only holds enough tea to last an hour or so, but I can take it out to the garage or the back yard without worry about breaking it, or the tea becoming contaminated by paint or sanding dust.

I am getting a picture in my mind of walking down the grocery store bake isle and finding lots of boxes of cake mix but no frosting anywhere. :) And no hot sauce either!
