What's new

I feel like I've back-slid

I moved recently. For the 2200 mile drive, I packed my 38C with a blade, since I was going to be on the road for 4 days, as well as my M3. The drive went well, I shaved every other day as usual.

Once I arrived, I realized I'd screwed up. I had no spare DE blades, so I had to use the M3. Once the movers delivered my stuff, I unpacked everything related to the bathroom I could find. I found more soaps and creams, but no blades. No blade safe either. It's here somewhere, and I'll find it at some point, but no joy so far.

So meanwhile, I'm using the M3. I'm getting good shaves from it, too. I'm using MB soaps, my Simpson's Colonel, and my alum block. The shaves are good! :thumbup1:

My conclusion is that it's not the razor, it's how you use it. I've learned how to shave here, and it works for me regardless of the razor handle: wet face, use no pressure, and multiple passes. And use better products for lube than Edge. MB, I love you! Mwah!

+1

When you go back to a cartridge razor, for whatever reason, you don't forget any of what you learned using a DE. And using good soaps and a brush has to be a big step up from canned goop. You're guaranteed to be getting a better shave with a cartridge now, than you did prior to wet-shaving.
