What's new

I am looking for a thread that had a picture.

It was a black and white, looked like an ad that showed about 5 steps to a good shave.

It had to do with either :

1) How shaving was done 25 years ago or
2) How barbers get a good shave from 1950 ?

I knew I should have saved it. GRRRRRR

thanks

That's from a 1957 article in "Science and Mechanics" magazine entitled Exploring the Science of Shaving.

That prep, with the two most important steps being the soap and water wash to strip out oils from the beard and leaving the lather on the face for two minutes prior to getting to work with the blade to soften the beard, has become my routine.

I do merrily shave against the grain with no ill effect, however.

Good post, thanks for getting it up. :thumbup1:

If this were not B&B, I might be compelled to say, "that's what she said."

But since this is B&B, a gentlemanly forum, I will refrain from doing so.

Also, no problem, Hex. The image was very memorable so it was easy for me to remember where I'd seen it.
