Hi,
Does anyone else use Hydroglide as a pre-shave?
I've been using it for about 20 years; although I'm Italian, like many African-American men I have tough, wiry, curly hair on my neck: it grows in every direction and was always a source of razor-burn, weepers and irritation! An African-American friend suggested Hydroglide to me, and I've been using it ever since. It's cheap (that 8 oz bottle lasts for months) and effective.
Here is the manufacturer's web page: https://mooreunique.com/index.php?p...category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=25 until recently, it was marketed to African-American men to help with shaving bumps/irritation. [I have no connection with the manufacturer]
I shave in the shower - and also shave my head - daily. After rinsing, I pat my head and face dry, spray on five or six spritzes of Hydroglide and massage it in, letting it sit for a minute. I follow that by massaging Proraso pre/post; wait another minute, then lather with a brush and creme (I use Proraso, Valobra or P.160) and shave. (FWIW, I'm an experienced DE shaver, having started with DE, cream and brush in 1961)
I never have neck irritation, and always get BBS shaves.
Anyone else use Hydroglide? I think it's great stuff!
