Hugo Boss question

Hey my dad only uses one cologne, and one cologne only for the last 10 years.

That one (up above).

He says its the only one that doesn't make his eyes water. He tried some Penhaligon's endymion and he said he sprayed it on his hand and rubbed it on his face (I know, but he's been on this planet longer than I have, so I guess he knows what he is doing). He said it made his eyes water.

I assume it has to do with the chemical components in the fragrances. I once new a guy who could only drink Japanese beer, because his doctor told him he was allergic to something in the other ones.

I do not know what these could be. But you guys have a handle on your knowledge of fragrances, maybe you could help me out. and suggest something from the Penhaligon's line that is similar to Hugo Boss in this way.

Well can you point me in the right direction. What might it be about Hugo Boss that sets it apart from other fragrances that irritate his skin?

I'm not a qualified chemist, but I don't think there's anything substantially different in Boss than is in many, many other scents. Maybe it's just the combination of synthetics/ingrdients in Boss that don't contain anything that irritate him.

It's your dad's money and he can massage into his scalp if he's so inclined, but it's not meant to be applied to face unless it's AS strength.

Cologne's and EdTs are much stronger and that must make him smell pretty strongly.
