How to search for my messages in a specific thread?

I tried using the search feature but it comes up with 0 results. Probably doing something wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the thread.
Click the search magnifying glass.
Click the drop down, and select "this thread".
In the "by member" box, start typing your username.
Once your name shows, click it.
Then click the "search" button.

If you are already looking at the thread,
change "Everywhere" to "this thread"
and put your username where it says
By: Member
