How to brighten up my G-Shock band?

I have a Casio G-Shock Solar Atomic, with the resin case and band. This is said to be the ultimate lazy man's watch. I love it.

I do nothing chemical to keep the band shiny. My technique is simple. I rarely take it off. I wash my hands with it on. I shower and shave with it on. I sometimes remove it if I am going to whale the daylights out of something using a hammer. It stays pretty shiny from use and frequent washing.

If yours is dull, start with mild soap and a terrycloth rub-down. My experience is that whatever is good for your skin is good for your resin band. Try suntan lotion, coconut oil, olive oil, or anything similar, and a good rub.

I'm not sure if it'll work on your band, but I usually use Brasso to clean and polish plastic. I'd try just a little bit on the inside to see how it reacts to the material. You might also want to check an auto parts store for products that rejuvenate black bumpers - my guess is that they would also work on your band.

I kind of had the auto parts store theme in mind when I suggested Armor All. But to the first point, I guess I'm still afraid to leave it on when in water. I take it off when I shower or when I know I'm doing something with a lot of water. I'll have to get over this but I'm still in that mindset of keeping electronic devices away from H2O.

My Casio loves hot, soapy water, hot showers, and diving in pools. I had to get out the reading glasses to see the little text, but mine says "WR 200M". That means water-resistant to 200 meters. That is over 600 feet underwater.

Armor all wipes.
