It depends what you prefer. The Swedish razor seems to need a cleaning + honing where the American razor only needs a honing...

The Swedish razor look like a 4/8 where the American look like a 5/8... I would pick a 5/8 over a 4/8 but that's a personal preference. If it would be 6/8, it would be even better...
