How many razors do you have , and how many of those you actualy have used ?


my answer :

as of last night

10 ( a very kind church member gave me 8 of his his old razors he doesnt use any more )

how many actualy used : 3 but shooting for all 10

Somewhere around twenty five razors currently. Have used eight.

I have 5 - I use the following 3 petty much every day, I rotate them:

Muhle R89
Gillette Red Tip E1 1959
Gillette Super Speed J4 1964


Two I have not yet used:

Gillette Super Speed J3 1964 ( with its case)
Gillette Fat Boy E1 1959

6 that I use regularly: W1 Super Speed in case, Ball End Tech, H2 Slim in case, E2 Fat Boy, Vintage Merkur Slant, Vintage Bakelite Open Comb Slant.

Don't use my Ball End New in case, D1 Blue Tip in case, Fat Handle Tech in case, or unbranded German travel razor in case very often.

93 DEs and 3 SEs as of now.

I've used about 20 of the DEs to date - I was trying to catch up on purchases but a blade buy diverted me into trying different blades with a standard razor combination.

5 are travelling around Australia in the Aussie Travelling DE/SE Box

Another 5 are on loan to a mate.

20 are still in transit to me

1 will not be used - it is a mint NOS Aristocrat from my birth year for my son.

Do you think I have picked up a case of RAD since starting with DE in March?

Edit: Actually it is 95, I'd forgotten a couple I was given by my parents who found some in antique stores and nabbed them for me

I didn't think I would ever post that number but 0... I'm into straights now...

Six of my razors are broken. That can happen if you buy eBay lots with several razors jumbled together. At least they came with other razors that were good.

Non broken razors:
DE, 47, shaved with 34.
SE, 34, shaved with 28.
Injector, 33, shaved with 31.

And I have some cartridges and disposables too.

1 1964 Gillette Super Speed (stays at the office for when I do not go home)

In sentimental moments I'll use my birth year and quarter Gillette Super Speed.

The 7th is a cased 1949 Gillette Super Speed that does not get much use. I cannot decide whether to keep it or put it up on the B/S/T board.

i have and use all 3 of my straight razors.... i used to have 5 more but i sent them to get honed and they never made their way back
