What's new

How many of these forum sites do YOU belong to?

Am I bogus in making the claim that any person who is a member of this kind of specialty forum automatically belongs to and regularly at least 10 other forums of similar or different topics? I know I do.

I regularly find myself wasting gobloads of time at sites that indulge my interest in:

Computer-based music recording
Coffee
Terry Pratchett
Acura cars
Telecasters and Les Pauls
American history
SW and scanner radios

I'm such a nob.

Jeff in Boston

I belong to 8 forums and lurk on 10 more.

11 gun/shooting sites
4 guitar sites
2 shaving sites
1 GPS site

I check them all several times a day.

I'm retired, but it looks like I need to get a life !!

Is there a forum for people who are addicted to forums?

Several, to say the least. There are some forums that I visit regularly and some rarely. There is one web forum that I have belonged to for over 11 years in it's three incarnations. If you count Usenet newsgroups then, I have belong to some of those for years longer. They were in existence before web based forums started. There are some forums that I visit regularly and some rarely.

I was using usenet and other forums before B&B.

A few examples:
Tropical Fish
Cichlids
Various sites and usenet groups for IT Professionals
Various forums to provide computer support
Disc Golf
Mountain Biking

If I'm interested in it, I'll try to find a forum to talk about it...

I am a member of several but only frequent this one. The other ones are for when I need to ask a question (computer forums and the like).

several. I find forums to be THE best place for information regarding whatever you are looking for..
Opinions of others on the good and bad is priceless information in a world where smooth talking cons are beginning to be the norm
the friendships and relationships built within a "community" is another bonus

B&B
The Shave Den
Shave my Face
A salt-water/reef tank forum

I don't think I could handle anymore...my wife already thinks I am nuts!!

smokersforums.org (tobacco pipes)
badgerandblade.com

I used to belong to bmwmoa.org (BMW Motorcycle) but there was a high idiot factor and lots of bad behavior.

The two sites I spend time on now are very similar in their style.

I belonged to the Internet BMW Riders Association when it was an e-mail list (each post generated a broadcast e-mail) a long time ago.

I've been known to lurk at tdiclub.com and mercedesshop.com but mostly because I get the enjoyment of experiencing others' triumphs and failures vicariously without the expenditure of money and time and without all of the aches and pains.

This is the only forum I'm currently active in.
