How many duds?

In a box of 100, how many bad blades do you generally find? I have a box of Astra SPs, and although I'm pretty new, there seems to be 1/5 that tugs more, even 3 shaves in.

I don't think I ever encountered a bad Astra, though as with any other blade I only use an Astra twice before dropping it in the blade bank.

I've had one dud blade in 130 shaves. I've used many different kinds in that time so I can't give you any numbers on a particular brand. This one happened to be a Personna Super (lab).

A tool can indeed be to blame. If a particular brand of blade always works great for you, then you get one that tugs like crazy, then they go back to being great again, that one blade was a dud. Pretty simple.

That's the similar problem I encountered with Astras, I always seemed to get a blade that drags along with a rough shave. However, I began cleaning out a drawer of sample pack remains and currently have an Astra SP in my 37c and it does as well as any blade I've tried. Because I probably have 20-30 of them remaining, I'm going to continue using them until they are gone and if I continue to get good shaves I just might order a couple hundred of them to go alongside with the Derbys and Feathers which have always been consistent in my findings. Skipping subject, I also again tried Sharks, Sharps, & 7am's from this sample pack and they are complete trash imo and were disposed of. It doesn't take a week of bad shaves to realize a dud.
