What's new

how long have you had your tweezerman?

$IMG_20130412_010600.jpg Well mine is about a year and a half old now. thanks to shaverjoe on the forums for regluing the handle on. lol. it came in half, and I literally used to hold the knot. but now its solid and good to go. its getting soft now though. almost too soft. no hair loss though, Joe made sure of that one. lol So how long have you had your tweezerman for?!

I had mine for a few weeks before the knot popped out and then Amazon sent me a label to ship it back. I haven't even considered ordering or recommending one since.

blzrfn. lol. I agree. I wanted to send mine back, but didn't care because it was entry level. now it works just fine. sitting on its stand in my bathroom lol

I had my first tweezerman for a full 2 hours before the handle cracked all the way up one side. Sent it back to the seller and have been using the new one for about a month, no problem. Seems to shed a bit though.

oh man, with you guys, it seems like im one of the lucky ones! lol. yeah in the beginning mine shed a lot also, but its fine now. and no it has hair as you can see in the pic lol lets see some photos!~

I bought one to use just so that I could give an opinion on it from experience.

Had it... oh maybe... two or three weeks before I sold it.

Nice entry level brush and about lower mid range for a pure badger.

I've never tried the boar Tweezerman brush, only the pure badger brush.

I didn't even know they made a boar one. I have the badger. I have a back up AoS brush that ill break out one day, but I really wanna try a horsehair brush

I used it for two weeks befote getting something better.
It is the worst brush i have ever used. This week i thought that i might have been too harsh on it and maybe time changes things so i pulled it out.
Well the horrid funk was gone. That was the most stubborn brush i have ever encounteted on that department. But all the good things about it remained: sheds all over the place, prickly and unpleasant altogether.
With excellent affordable options as the omega boar brushes, frank shaving synthetic or whipped dog i can't think of worse value-for-money than that brush. It is even worse than the vdh boar that comes in the $9 kit, and that says a lot!

4 years?! hot dang! do you use it often? reason why I ask is cause I see rotation. that's my only brush in use, and I love it. lol

I used mine for about a month before I upgraded. At that time I think I wrote:

"This Tweezerman is crap! It has the backbone of a wet paper towel and sheds like a mangy dog on chemotherapy!"

I had mine for 5 years. But it's actually what caused me to join this forum a few weeks ago. For a couple of years it really looked worn and formed a bowl shape so I came here and started this thread http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/340200-Why-does-my-brush-look-like-this

I now have a new brush (Semogue) and the Tweezerman is history. I've gone bore!!

So in answer to your question 5 years. But that is deceptive because for a few of those years the brush wasn't performing well.

The first year or so, it was in a two-brush rotation, seeing use every other day. After that my brush stockpile quickly grew, but the Tweezerman stayed in the pack, seeing fairly regular use. Now, when I use badgers, the Tweezerman is in a four-brush rotation, along with a Simpsons, a SOC two band, and a Bob Farvour custom.

I'm kind of surprised at all the negativity in this thread. Maybe Tweezermans were better brushes a few years ago than they are now. Mine shed at first, but then settled down, remains a good little brush.

Auk1124, same here. its a dependable little brush. it did shed, but not overly, and I don't really have hairs coming out anymore. Emanon so far has shown a 5 year span. that's pretty nuts. im going to look at my brush now, and see how its going. I don't believe I have that cup like that. im sure its well on its way though lol

I've had my Tweezerman since I started, 2.5 years ago. It's still my number one brush in the rotation! Call me crazy, but I love the Tweezerman. Mine is 21x55mm, and while it is scratchy, it eats into soaps and creates an awesome lather. I've used several expensive brushes and sold most of them. I'm also curious as to why mine has a solid metal handle as opposed to the wood ones. I like it though, it gives it a good weight. I always recommend a Tweezerman to beginners.

Had mine for over 2 years now. It is starting to show its age the laquer finish on the handle is chipping away and I'm considering retiring it and getting another that is a little better. It was my first brush and its held up well considering I paid ~$9 for it.

I have never ever seen a metal tweezerman! that's something else....think its this one http://www.amazon.com/SimplyBeautif...d=1365904036&sr=8-5&keywords=tweezerman+brush

No, it's definitely a Tweezerman. I just checked my Amazon order history to prove it.

Is it metal or chromed plastic?

Solid metal. Heavier than any other brush I've owned. There's something to it, I love the feel of it. I've been trying to find another brush that is slightly more dense and a little softer, while still making wonderful lather like this one.
