How Its Made - Butterfly Safety Razors

My first post is an interesting video on how Butterfly Safety Razors are made (in case you haven't seen it)...

Glad to be here!

Yeah it made us all squee last year. But two things immediately struck me about the video that remain true today: (1) with all that quality control, you'd expect German-made blades to be awesome, yet they're....mediocre at best (the making of the blades is shown in the other part of this vid). And (2) with those plastic parts inside the Vision, it pretty much guarantees that I'll never buy one.

The Merkur Vision is clownishly large (first reason not to buy it), but this video also proves that it is a product designed to wear out: it's not an engineering marvel, it's a high price unit made from inferior materials (second reason not to buy it). It doesn't matter how pretty it looks, from a design standpoint it's a piece of junk!

+1 The Vision may deliver good shaves but I don't see it lasting a very long time.

I can't really comment because I don't own and haven't used one. But any time I see threads in plastic I cringe. Especially on something that is designed to be twisted open/closed multiple times over it's use-span.
