How does your Kingdom look like?

Well, I'll admit that I can be a little strange from time to time, but I suppose that my "kingdom" is actually the furnace/laundry/storage room. This is where I go to read/relax/think. The room is unfinished and has no furniture (other than an old 14inch TV on a broken microwave stand)... but it is my favourite place to spend "me time". Ever since I was a little kid I've loved to sit on top of the clothes dryer, covered in a blanket, and read... there is just something about being warm while you read that makes it so much better... and the loud white-noise from the dryer and furnace mean that I don't get distracted nearly as often.

We call it my "cave", instead of "kingdom", but it hasn't materialized yet. However, I am in line to get a house with a detatched 3-car garage, and I have grand plans for that. I will divide it into thirds, each with it's own garage door. The first section will be a sports pub/viewing room, with all my Gator stuff, and a big screen TV. That is where my leather and wood will be. There are several barrister bookcases in the house that will look good in there.

The second section will be a Coca-Cola diner, with my old Coke machine, and all of my Coke stuff, outfitted in Coke diner furniture. This room will also have it's own regular entrance door.

The last section will be the actual workshop/tool storage.

I don't worry about where the cars go, because the house has a 2-car garage already.

That is my ultimate dream, and I will have it one day.

My Kingdom? At the moment a smallish 15 foot by 25 foot University room.

It really isn't anything special with breeze block walls, and a cardboard poster-board, but it has a sink, and thus is my home :)

As we strive to accumulate more and more, I can't help but notice that some of my greatest pleasures have been exerienced in the most austere and unadorned surroundings.
You may be dying to leave your dorm room, but I can assure you that you'll come to miss your dorm life.

My work office was that way for me. Well I don't smoke cigars, but it was in a seperate building from the rest of the company, and I had my own bathroom and entrance/exit.

I had my watches on dispaly, my glass desk, that I still want. My knick knacks, etc. All my reading material in my bathroom!

Now I have left the company and am between jobs, so my stuff is in boxes. We have an "office", which I am in now, but it isn't "mine". My wife has a craft room that is hers, so I may start angling for the office.

Yours is great though. I like the desk and the brushes that could put on cream in one pass.

I third the dorm sentiment. It is nice to have your own space.

I am in the process of rough finishing my furnace/laundry/storage room. It will still be the laundry room but will also serve as my little work shop. I plan on smoking my cigars in there as well. It will be my room to *piddle* around I guess.

Me too, minus the cigars. I've got a little wood shop going on down there. There's not much space, but I've got a table saw, router table, planer, a couple of benches, and a new dust collector.
