How do you store your suits?

In a bag? What kind? No bag?

I've got my suits hanging without bag, but thinking I should bag them when they're hanging.

I have to wear mine so on a hanger. I like to hang the pants on a pants hanger . . . I use the old type that have cotton pads on wood that will actually hold the pants and not let them fall to the floor.

No bag. For suits I am wearing regularly, simply hanging on regular hangers in a wlak in closet. For suits I am not wearing, say out of season, in a separate smaller closet with a door. Still no bag unless I had the suit cleaned in which case I just leave it in the dry cleaner bag, to keep them from getting dusty.

I got rid of the bags I had because they weren't breathable. I figured trapping suits in them would be bad. But now I see there are some breathable ones. I just want to keep the dust off.

I just hang them in a closet, no bag. I've never kept mine bagged and haven't had any deteriorate.

It's a bit damp where I live (beach city) so anything stuck in a bag would most likely develop mold.

After wearing your suit you should brush it with a stiff bristled brush and hang it with out a bag on a wooden hanger in a closet with a vent or some kind of air flow. When packing suits away for the season, you should bag and hang them if they are clean to keep dust and moths away.

You should brush a suit jacket and vest, iron the pants and shirt before you wear them.

If you own a steamer you should seam the suit before but not after wearing one (but if you own a steamer you probably know this).

I just hang my suits on hangers. I have cedar drawers in my closet. Never had problems with moths. My housekeeper will periodically dust off the suits I don't wear.

I only wear suits during the fall and winter and sport coats in the spring and summer, although, I just bought a Brooks Brothers summer poplin suit. I'm about to store my fall/winter suits so I plan on taking them to the cleaners this weekend. When I get them back, I'll store them on large shoulder wooden hangers and place them in a breathable garment bag.

Hang the coats on wooden hangers that are wide so as to imitate a shoulder. Pants hung upside down with hangers that have clips. No bags so as to prevent mildew or mold which can grow inside the bag.

Zipped garment bag in the closet. However some of my suits are just covered with a big black garbage bag with those yellow draw strings on the bottom... so i can pull and close up the bottom. Works just like a zipped garment bag.. plus it's cheap!

Maybe someday if I could justify spending the money or had the reason to get a nice suit I'd come up with some fancy storage method. Not sure that's too likely, they just don't get worn. Work is all casual these days, I couldn't wear a suit there. I've probably worn a suit less than ten times in the past three or four years. Job interview, wedding, funeral seems about it.

Right now my two suits hang on a hanger. They've been on that hanger for over a year without moving now and they don't look dusty.
