How do you store your shave stick?

Hello, all. I was stoked to find a Palmolive shave stick at a store relatively close to me. I was wondering how you all store your shave sticks? Just in the foil or has someone found a suitable container?

The way it is wrapped and has that plastic base, it almost looks like it's supposed to come with another cover of some sort.

I just went thru this and got some great advise from a different board-get a pill bottle and put some holes in it to let air in. You'll need a rather large one but they do make them. Perhaps a local Walgreens or CVS would part with one. My Arko stick is about double the size of the Palmolive stick so I needed an extremely large one.

I think the base is meant to let it stand up on the counter, without falling over or getting wet.

For storage, pill bottles are popular. Punch a few ventilation holes through the lid.

You can also get shave stick containers from various soap vendors, and remill. Or you can empty a deoderant stick or a glue stick and remill into that.

This fits an Arko stick perfectly. It is a glass toothpick holder from Bed Bath Beyond.

Why punch holes? I get that it's to let the stick dry, but does that matter? I'd be concerned about loosing the scent.

I pat my Arko dry and rewrap it in it's original wrapper. Then i stand it up inside the medicine cabinet next to my shave brush.

You're not missing a cover, that's just how it comes.

Either mill into your preferred style of container, or just wipe off any excess water and store wherever you want...mine just sits in the soap drawer

I just leave mine on the bench.

The bases are horrible. I keep dropping the stick by accident when it tumbles out of it

I posted just the other day about a great container that I found at the Container Store. It fits the Valobra and Palmolive sticks great.

Found this at local grocery store. A new full stick (incuding the plastic base) of Speick fits inside. It is wide enough for ARKO, but maybe a tad short for a new ARKO stick.
