how do i choose a gillette blade?

Evening everyone and happy weekend to all,

How do i go about choosing a gillette blade? i want to try one of the 7 o clocks or a.m`s
I have a ton of feathers but i want to try out the gillettes.

Buy one pack 5 blades ea, and give them a try. I would suggest the Gillette 7 O'clock black, Made in India and the blue are made in Russia both great. The black are more expensive though, but then I have had 7 shaves on the same black blade.

I can't understand why they would name them all the same. Couldn't they just brand them 7 O'clock, 8 O'clock, 9 O'clock, etc'?

thanks for the suggestion. i guess sampler packs are the way to go. But since everyone likes the black from india ill try those i think

The Blacks are nice, and the Russian Blues are about the same. I get a good shave with little tugging from the yellows and greens, and the life seems to be a bit better (not the best, but IMHO better than Derby or Sharks.) The thins are nice as well, I got them with a purchase a little while ago. If you order a 5 pack of each, there is really no loss if you don't like them. Just set the remaining blades aside and offer a PIF to someone else with the same dilemma!

The real thing here is even if you don't care for one blade over the other in one particular razor, they can really shine in another razor. Perhaps the black is a little too rough in an OC, but very forgiving and smooth in a SS or DE89.

+1 I have some blue's that I just started using and they are almost identical to the blacks, and way less expensive. I think I got 7-8 before I changed it out more or less just because, it wasn't tugging yet. The black and blue are great blades for sure. I just bought 100 Astra SP, and they are sharp and smooth but only good for about 3 shaves.
