been getting impatient about getting a barber pole style Aristocrat, and got this one on ebay...would have liked to have spent less but it looks pretty nice. Is that the correct case for the razor? what year is the razor?

Dan, that's very good value, assuming it operates well. Yep, correct case although missing most of its liner. It also came in a leather case. 1934-40. Usually called the "1934 Aristocrat". Well done!

That looks pretty good, Dan. These Aristocrats are pretty notorious for having difficulty opening. Hopefully, the seller wasn't exaggerating how well it opens. Even though the case is missing the lining, you probably did just fine. I would imagine that the razor alone could sell for that much on eBay.

cool. i dont consider myself a collector, and i really dont care for the case to be honest. i will most likely throw this razor into my daily rotation, so the box will most likely end up in a closet somewhere.

It's a nice shaver.
If the finish is as nice as he says, I wouldn't use it as a daily. For a similar shave I would use a senator instead of risking plate loss on the aristocrat.

got it in the other day, did a quick cleaning....very nice. the head has no plating loss, however the handle does...although the plate loss reveals a nice, almost rosy color that makes it very attractive. love it!

this thing shaves like a king too, hands down my most aggressive razor.

That looks great! Does it open and close okay? They are pretty notorious for having a problem in that regard. Either way, they are great shavers. I pulled mine out yesterday and gave it whirl yesterday and today. It is an excellent shaver. If only I could get over my dislike for yellow gold ...

yep! was worried about that too...opens and closes smoothly and tightly. mechanically perfect. i am one happy camper
