Just received a nice shipment of thick Horween Veg Tanned Horsehide. This is the heavy 9 to 10oz stock and has a smooth eggshell finish that gives a lighter, faster draw. Not slick or glassy feeling but just right. These are a bit more firm than my previous run and have a slightly harder surface temper. Nice buff coloring with the usual horsehide color and texture variations.
I also grabbed what is likely the last European Steerhide side my supplier will be able to get. Another nice light draw leather.
This and the horsehide have been my best seller and the choice of most customers since I started. I am mainly focusing on the time tested, "proven" leathers I have used in the past.
I also have a good quantity of my Plain or Utility strops in both horsehide and steerhide for those who don't need the frills or are on a tighter budget.
