Looks like a translucent arkansas, if so should a good finisher.
agree it is ark.
It's a hard white/semi-translucent arkansas.
They seem to finish similarly to 5-7k grit synthetics of the handful I've used. I personally don't care for them as razor hones. They shine at knife honing.
