Hone ID Help :)

Hey all,
Found what I think is a hone at the flea market. Looks like one of my Thuringians. Anyone have an idea of what it might be?

Nice find!
If you’re able to lap the surface a bit, and also lap your known thuri a bit, it may help ID what you’ve got. I find when I have questions, I get a lot of good info from the way the stone laps, the feel of the slurry, and the look of the surface after lapping.

Slate of some sort. Pretty hard to positivly ID dark slate, because it looks like... well, slate.

Doubt its thuri. Looks a little like the lunes I have owned, but sometimes "slate" is the best ID you can manage.
