What's new

Home made shaving stand.

I've been broke, so I'm subsidising my desire to buy razors by making this shaving stand.

This is made from an old floor board with some random timber stain found in the shed.

I think there was a DIY thread around here somewhere, but can't seem to find it.

What do you guys think?

Thats really nice. Man I wish I had woodworking tools and shop to put them in. It'd be so much fun to just sit down and make stuff like this.

I 'like it' especially the 'tilt' you have with the tool slots.

Q. Can you make one with more slots...say 2 Razors (Merkur's 23C 38C), & 3Brushes?

I don't see why not. The timber is hardwood, and there isn't much weight to hold really. You could probably go about 40-50cm in length before you would need a support in the middle.

I made a quick brush holder out of some pipe clamp thing and some brackets and the brush just fell off, so I thought the angle would be a good idea when I made this one.

I have modified test tube racks for razors and pipe stands for brushes, but this is much more suited to the gear of the individual (that being you).

Bravo. Excellent work!

Wow, that is a most awesome looking stand!!

So when are you going to start taking orders?:lol::w00t:

haha! :001_rolle :tongue_sm Don't look too close! It's good for DIY, but not saleable quality. Building your own stuff to hold your own stuff is part of the ethos of B&B I reckon, so go forth: rip up your floorboards!

Great job on your shaving stand and superb work of recycling something old into a useable piece of equipment. Well done, my friend, and very creative.

That's a great looking stand. If you're into tinkering, I'm looking for a smaller stand that will hold 2 Japanese style straights, yet afford some protection from the exposed open blade. :001_cool:
