Let me start this post by saying that the best way to describe my photography skills is "enthusiastic amateur" ( and even that may be a bit generous ).
On an overseas holiday I'll take 500-600 + photos, places, people, things whatever. Some good, some not so good.
I've just gone through my 550 photos from my trip to San Francisco ( taken in 3 days ) and have just realized on my last couple of overseas holidays there's around say 30-35 pictures that I really like but there's ONE photo that you keep coming back to that to me is the "defining moment" of that entire holiday. Normally I'll look at a photo and go " That's such and such a thing/person @ such a place" . My "defined moment " is a photo of a particular point in time and space yet evokes strong memories about the entire trip .
Example. In October 2008 my wife and I spend 14 days in Thailand and Siem Reap ( Ankar Wat ). I took around 650 photos , people, temples , animals but to me this photo "defines" the entire holiday ( taken at Ta Proehm, Siem Reap )
Similarly looking through my San Francisco trip here's my "defining moment" picture.
Weirdly enough my "defining moment" photos, I look at them and say "Black and White" as well
Anybody else find the same thing and have "defining moment" photos of their holidays/trips or is it just me ??
Care to share ?????
