Started rubbing steel against stones when I first purchased some kitchen knives. Found out I really enjoyed it and now I am thoroughly engaged in trying different stones, steels, etc. Recently found another avenue in rubbing steel against stones in straight razors and found this forum with great discussion and knowledge about the topic.
