I decided tonight to try my hand at my first shave with a straight. I used my Case's Ace that Rick(Wid) graciously honed for me. It is a full hollow I do believe. I prepared everything just like normal, soaking my brush and vintage Williams puck while I was showering. To be honest I didn't watch any video's read any how to's, I have had a few straight shaves at my buddies barber shop and I just tried to mimic what he did. I don't know if it was something I was doing wrong(guess that's what I get for not watching video's
) but I really didn't care for the full hollow blade, it just seemed very light. Everything went good no cuts or nicks I did a with the grain pass all over with the straight which took me about 20 minutes, so the across the grain pass was with my DE. When I get my King 1k I am going to hone one of my Greaves near wedges and try it out.
