HHT badger?

Hello all. So I just got my first shave ready straight razor in the mail, thanks B&B B/S/T.

I was trying the thumb pad test and also thought I'd try the HHT. I happen to have a badger hair from a shedding brush and the razor cut right through it.. however, the shave on a badger hair is pretty thick. Would that have damaged the straight's edge? I'm quite paranoid now. I'm still waiting on my strop, so I have not shaved with it yet.
