What's new

Hey everyone I'm New here but I may be able to help...

I am a bartender by trade, if any of you have a question you think I may be able to help with please feel free to ask! It seems that a lot of you enjoy a good scotch, I will admit that my knowledge of scotch is limited. However if you have any other questions like I have a bottle of xyz that so and so gave me as a gift, what the heck do I do with it? Or a question about working behind a bar. Let me know!

That's a cool job but must be difficult at time!

With all the slurring...

You probably know much more about booze than me! Good to have you here!

Any drinks that you dislike doing?

Welcome to B&B :thumbup1:.

You know, my wife and I once had a chocolate martini in this posh restaurant/bar (something the waitress told us to trust her with...she made it herself)...I don't know how she did it what she put in it as far as ingredients, but I yet have to go anywhere that could serve as good a chocolate martini as that one . Hands down, that was BEST we had ever tried. Any advice or input on how the "good" stuff is really made?

Welcome!

Feel free to browse the Classic Cocktails section. We have a pretty good list going (Thanks to Castle Craver), but if you have anything to add, please let us know! We try to focus on old or classic drinks, not any fad martinis there. If you have a list of cocktails that aren't necessarily "classic" though, feel free to start a thread with some recipes too!

We also have a Spirit of the Month where we choose a spirit, post a little about it and discuss it. This board is definitely heavy on they Whisky drinkers (Scotch and Bourbon alike). I've learned a LOT about Scotch from just visiting threads, participating in the SOTM, and purchasing some of the Scotches recommended in several threads.

Well the truth is its all about timing. If its a busy Saturday night I'm not going to be as happy making a Bloody Mary as I am cracking open a bottle of beer. I'll do it of course! But you also have to remember that the quality is not going to be as good as if you had ordered one on a slow Tuesday when I could really get creative. Blended drinks kind of **** me off because I feel like I am working at Jamba Juice...:001_smile

Hmmm... this one is actually kind of a tough question because there are a bunch of ways to make a good chocolate martini and it would depend on what they used, which is what you don't know, :biggrin1:. However if you could give me a hint as to any flavors that you recognized besides chocolate I may be able to work it out for you. Some other common liquors added may have flavors such as vanilla, coffee, hazelnut, banana, baileys, and more. Also they could have added actual dark or milk chocolate or even Oreo bits. Any info would help.
