What's new

Here kitty kitty

HOHOHO! Dear mister PugsleyCat have you been a good little kitty this year, or have you been spreading cat litter everywhere and shredding the drapes? Maybe some brown leaf goodness will help to passify those ornery urges cats tend to get. What would the little puss in boots like for Christmas aside from a new leash for your walks? Maybe something tasty to puff on while you listen to your books?

The best dressed Santa around. ;-)

Dear BL Santa,

I have been a good boy this year, at least as far as what I will admit to. Beyond that I must refer you to my attorney.

Your suggestion of something tasty to puff on is a good one. I have only become serious about my pipe smoking over the last several months, so am still trying various types of tobacco. At this point I am open to trying any of the various tobaccos that you may have, but I draw the line at reindeer poop.

There are three corn cob pipes in my rotation that would benefit from Forever Stems from Walker Briar Works. Without replacement stems, these poor pipes might not last much longer before being replaced by inexpensive briar or meerschaum pipes. Remember, a cob is a terrible thing to waste.

If you see fit to send me a pipe and want to play it safe, I normally get myself bent billiard briar pipes. If you see this is an opportunity to guide me toward something else, I am game. Perhaps I might like a pipe, at least on occasion, that I have no good reason to have not bought myself other than my habit of buying similar pipes. Mini-pipes, small meerschaums, and church warden pipes are ones I have looked at but keep resisting.

I can always use miscellaneous gadgets like pipe tools, tobacco pouches, lighters, wind caps, or whatever neat little smoking toys may be in your bag. This is another area where I got along fine for years with a Zippo pipe lighter, pipe nail, and unlined tobacco pouch from Wally World. Then I came here and also visited a real tobacconist where I found out there is all kinds of neat stuff to be had!

Also please bring peace on earth and some reindeer poop for my sister that snickers at my shaving addiction.

Well kitty I hope you've been good because your package is almost ready. Are there any tobaccos or styles of tobacco you're extra fond of or cant stand to top off the package.

BL Santa,

I am open to any tobacco that you may wish to send my way. I am still experimenting in this area. Until earlier this year I was smoking the burley or cherry cavendish that comes in one pound bags at the drug store or cigarette shop.

Good grief Santa, help this poor man!

Now the elves are gunna have to clean up the milk I spit every where and the cookies I knocked over as I cried for you. Santa Is gunna have to educate you, either with pleasant tobacco or a very rough stick. The choice is yours Mr. Kitty.

I think I'll choose the pleasant tobacco over the stick.

Actually, when I started coming here I picked up some 4 ounce bags of various blends from David's Briar Shop in Des Moines and Ted's Tobacco in Omaha. So far all of their house blends have been good stuff.

Santa sent me a nice selection of tobacco and a replacement stem for one of my cobs!! Thank you, BL Santa! Photos coming tonight.
