Vintage Henckels are great razors. Also, because of their high circulation, you can usually find them for a very good price.

The blade is a quarter hollow, 13/16th

Make the W&B ready for the vitrine. IMHO it's too close to the spine to make it a good 3/8 or 4/8 razor.

Nice henckels. I spotted that W&B auction when it was in the fifties, and wondered why it was so high despite the crack. I take it you got over-eager and didn't notice it?

That is clearly a violation of the "rules" of ebay posts. I would dispute that.

I figure its still worth the $20 it cost, but it sure looks like a deliberate job of hiding the crack

Yah, for $20 I'd grind the edge off and make a 2.5" razor.
