help with cream ideas for better half

I have been wetshaving for about a month now and my fiance cannot get over how smooth my face always feels. She also loves how great all the different creams/AS I have smell. She has mentioned that she would like to try some of SC for herself so I have been looking around to find a few for her.

The issue I'm having is she doesn't want me to get her a brush right now. She says she would like to see how she likes just using the creams first(I explained to her thats like buying a ferrari and not driving it over 35mph. Yeah the ride will still be great but you wont get the same experience as driving it 100mph on the highway). While I would much rather purchase a tub since it it so much cheaper per gram, I would buy a tube if it tends to lend itself to better brushless application. I have a feeling they are the exact same but wanted to put this out there for everyone to give their $.02

I know that brothers did a thread about using creams brushless and that you could still get a great shave but didnt mention if there was difference between tubs/tubes.

Also if any of the lovely ladies of B&B would like to chime in or send me a PM with some hints on how to handle things it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm not a lovely lady or anything, but my wife tried my KMF shaving cream and never gave it back. She doesn't use a brush. It comes in a very convenient pump bottle (great if she shaves her legs in the shower like most women do). She just pumps the cream into her hands and rubs it on, then shaves. Better than anything currently marketed to women for leg shaving.

Comes in a variety of scents and is not expensive. My wife is happy with the unscented cream; maybe your SO would like lavender? or peaches and cream?

If it was me I would use my brush and lather it for her. I think you're missing out on a lovely opportunity here.

Thanks guys. I'll order some KMF from WCS with my next purchase. Oh darn, guess I have to go pick something out for me!! :biggrin1:

Same experience here... except my SWMBO prefers the KMF Lavender.

+1 on KMF. My wife loves the lavender. She even bought a pump bottle for her best friend (besides me :001_cool:) to try. But you might ask your wife which scent she would like to try before you order it for her.

In the same position as you right now. I was in San Francisco last week and picked up the ladies gift set (pre-shave, cream, body milk) in their rose scent. It's a very mild, but a great scent. As for the brush, she's content using mine (or having me use mine) to make lather. However, I think a bigger brush would make life easier for her. At some point, she'll give in and ask for one.

As someone else recommended, I took the opportunity to lather her legs up for her and kept it warm while she soaked in the tub and shaved with it for the first time. After she had used the body milk, she kept telling me to rub her legs. She loved the way it felt and smelled.

Women will love shaving their legs with real luxury shave creams compared to their Pure Silk or other mass market brand shaving gels. Just dont let them come near your razors though!

Fitjar Soaps makes a shaving cream especially for women. Unfortunately it is only listed in her Norwegian Language website. Its called "Barberkrem for kvinner", which means Shaving Cream for Women. Its scented with Chamomille, Cedar wood and Lavendar EO. No additives. Its meant to be used without a brush. You can see the tub here: http://www.mamut.net/controls/shop/shops/12/8/default.asp?wwwalias=fitjarsoap&gid=75

She also have an international website http://www.fitjarsoapinternational.com/

She has great customer service! And I am sure she will provide the cream overseas even though it is not listed on the international site.

There are reviews in here on some of the Gentleman Creams, and the reviews are great. I have tried some and find them very good. Of course I have no ground for comparison, since I have only used soaps apart from the Fitjar Cream Samples I purchased.
