I'm thinking of picking up a new razor, I have a fue months of wetshaving experience still a novice but I get great shaves and my face never had it so good. My current lineup consists of an EJ 89L, a slim adj, a 40-50s aristocrat, a tech and an r41 grand. Ok the 89 is my go to razor, can't help but get great shaves with this thing. I tend to shy away from TTO razors, I have a tuff time getting a good shave around my nose with the bigger head. I'm thinking a progress ir something along those lines, it's not a TTO but is an adjustable any suggestions, something that will shave like the 89 but I can adjust, any suggestions? Than,s for the help

The progress would be fantastic!! Its a great razor has a little heft to it and really shaves smooth the head is small and thin like your 89
Why not try something with an open comb? Single ring, old type, New improved, new, Goodfella, etc. If you haven't tried a Tech, it's practically "required reading".

Thanks for the input, looks like the progress gets the nod. Now should I send it to Eric to get worked on, or go to Lee and just buy a mergress.
Progress, or more refined sibling, Mergress.
You could also just try adding one or two shims to your DE89. This works brilliantly and changes the shave drastically for the better and closer.

Whats this guy said.The toggle is my favorite among my adjustables.
The mergress is very pretty. But before you she'll out for a mergress why not just try the progress to make sure you like it.
As a plus for the mergress, it can be stood up the base of the flat knob.
